Southern Memory

by Christi on January 13, 2010

Meetings, meetings, meetings! This week has been full of meetings and still more to get ready for! So, I’m taking a trip down memory lane to a warmer, slower time. A time when it was hot and sultry instead of cold and frosty (actually, it has started to warm up here and was even in the 50’s today). A time when the full moon was lighting the sky and the magnolias were in bloom. Forget thinking about meetings, I’m going back . . .

back to last summer:

I absolutely love your tablescape! The colors are so subtle, but beautiful. I may have to copy it for a special dinner for my husband and me very soon!

Oh, this is beautiful, and full of my two favorite things: Summer and magnolia! Thank you for this little burst of southern heat!

You know I have some clear salad plates and never knew quite how to make them look good. The idea of the leaves is really great. I don’t exactly have magnolia leaves up north here but I’ll bet I can find something else! Your table looks beautiful.

This post just makes me long for summer even more! What a warm feeling it evokes & what a charming use of the magnolia flowers & leaves. Pretty stemware, too!

Just beautiful. I love the use of the sweet magnolias. Being from the south as well I love the smell and miss it during the winter months.

What a beautiful alfresco setting! I’m lamenting the freeze damage to my garden. I think everyone in the south is just trying to keep warm these days. Thanks for sharing this lovely table!

Beautiful tablescape….and thank you for warming me up a bit…I am getting tired of this freezing weather down here in the South….Atleast today it was in the 40’s….so before you know it pollen will be in the air!!

Your punch sounds yummy I will try it soon to warm us on these fridged nights. Your magnolias are lovely. My favorite tree but I’m too far north to own one. Lucky you.
