If you’ve been around A Southern Life for a while you know that I really enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. Outdoor rooms are the perfect place for me. What do you need to have an outdoor room? For me, all I need is a comfortable place to sit, a little shade and maybe a table.
What do you need for your outdoor room? Here are a few pics I found for inspiration:
My outdoor room is my own back porch. What do you need to turn your dreams into reality for your own outdoor room?
Today’s Lagniappe: Strawberry Vinaigrette
The perfect time of year for strawberries!
# 1 cup olive oil
# 1/2 pint fresh strawberries, halved
# 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
# 1/2 teaspoon salt
# 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
# 1/4 teaspoon dried tarragon
# 1/4 teaspoon white sugar
In a blender or food processor, mix olive oil, strawberries, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, tarragon and sugar. Blend until smooth.

I was wondering if someone could give me some ideas. We recently added a new deck and framed a roof on it but did not complete it as I am not sure what would look the best. Right now it resembles a pergola however its angled off the roof of the house and it looks incomplete. I was thinking of putting up the vinyl (wavy) roof but not sure if it would suit. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. The framed roof measures 14″x 10′.
Thanks
I love an outdoor room. We have one, our so so covered back deck and I love it in Summer and early Fall. We want to make it even more so with a metal permenant gazabo on it at some point.
Love some of these photos, inspiring.

Lovely rooms. I like a chaise lounge, and a swing or moving piece like a rocker. Currently I have a glider – love those. I’m also in the south, so shade goes w/o saying! Dropping by from BNOTP.

Ooh, what pretty, pretty outdoor rooms. I love them all! I too have an outdoor room, our front porch is screened in and this is the time of the year that I love it most. We eat supper out there and just sit and swing! : )
Thanks for posting such great pictures. I hope you have a wonderful week.
Having cleaned the pollen and winter build up off our porch this weekend, what I need is a porch cleaner who will spiff it up just before we spontaneously decide to have our supper out there. Thanks.
They are all so beautiful, I can see myself sitting in each and everyone. Thanks for sharing.
