Southern 2010 at the Fair

by Christi on September 22, 2010

As promised, here are the 2010 fair entries in the place setting category. Before we get started, I just want to show you something:

This is the 2010 Best of Show Winner:

2010 Fair entry

This is an entry from 2009 that got a 2nd place ribbon:

See any resemblance? Almost exactly the same entry won Best of Show this year that got a 2nd place ribbon last year, go figure!?

Here are all of the entries for this year (see the accompanying comments):

Enjoy! Hope you see lots of inspirational settings at:

Hi! My friend and I have been entering the County Fair for the past several years. We always do two tables. I’m excited to see yours. We set up on Oct. 2 so I’ll be posting more than. So fun to see another Fair table setter!

Love the setting. It’s so elegant and charming.

Last year’s 2nd place and this year’s best in show are so closely matched. Were they entered by the same person?

For that sixth entry without a placemat, maybe the participant was going for his/her take on a formal place setting which usually does not include placemats. I guess the rules must have required placemats, huh?

A good variety of entries, I enjoyed viewing these. Thanks for sharing.

All the Best,

Requi

It sure goes to show the judges preferences! I like the Halloween and Christmas place settings best. I guess I have my preferences, too. Thanks for sharing!

These were all pretty — I especially liked the jadite.

I loved them all. Sure glad I don’t have to worry about being “technical”. I put my napkins and glasses wherever I choose. I’ve always wondered who the “they” are that decide what goes where anyway or how you’re supposed to decorate!

How fun it would be to stroll through the exhibits! My two personal favorites were numbers 11 and 5, but I really thought that they all were pretty!

Thanks for sharing, they are all very nicely done…my favorite is the white/chocolate setting.
