Meeting Matters

By Christi

People who know me, know I’m not fond of meetings. In light of that, it is funny how often I find myself attending meetings. However, if you must you must and, when you must, you may as well make it as pleasant as possible, right? On a recent evening, a meeting was held in my home. We extended out the dining table to make a long “conference” table and then added some food and flowers in order to create a friendly, relaxed environment. Here is how it turned out.

spring meeting

Antipasto plates, and bowls of sweets sit among vases of gerber daisies.

A little something to nibble on to help keep our thoughts from straying to “what’s for dinner?”

Some pretty spring color in a bowl next to the daisies.

Anyone want a cupcake?

Perhaps, something to wet your whistle.

As meetings go, it wasn’t bad at all!

Hi, Christi! I’m your “next-door-neighbor” on Tablescape Thursday this week! Hooray for you for making the best of a bad situation. Like you, I cannot stand to sit in meetings. They are the worst form of torture!!! Waterboarding? OK! The rack? Bring it! But meetings….no way!!! Not the meetings!!!!!!!!!!! :-) I like that you made everything kind of bite-sized or otherwise easily handled. Your selection of bright, cheerful colors made all the difference, too. Very nicely done, and VERY smart! Have a great weekend!

Christi: I wish the board and committee meetings that I attend were as nice as yours. Ed Bush
