About

A Southern Life – The blog that discusses Southern Entertaining, Southern Customs, Southern Recipes, Southern Gardening and Southern People – and anything else this Southern Girl comes up with.
You know who you are – the people of the South – the ones who enjoy mild winters, hot, humid summers and hospitality at all times. You are the ones who can make something as simple as making a mint julep into an art form. You are the ones who entertain graciously and beautifully. This blog is for you – my brothers and sisters in the land of the South or Southern at heart.
Christi Wharton grew up in “Little Dixie.” This is an area in Southeastern Oklahoma where Southerners migrated after the Civil War. They brought with them the lifestyles and customs of the South. Christi currently lives in Arkansas and has traveled extensively not only in the Southern U. S. but all over the U. S. where she learned the how unique the Southern culture really is (Facebook friends see her “Places I’ve Been map – 360 cities in 6 countries).
When Christi decided to take up gardening, she went all out and became a Master Gardener. As a member of the Baxter County Master Gardeners, she chaired the Master Gardeners’ booth at the local Home & Garden Show for 3 years. Christi is especially fond of growing herbs and roses.
Christi is an avid cook. She collects cookbooks and at one time had over 500 cookbooks. She loves to entertain her friends and family with good cooking in a comfortable setting. She takes pride in setting a beautiful table and is always looking for inspiration for her table.
Christ teaches etiquette for children, teens and businesses in addition to creating websites for internet marketing. She is also available for public speaking on topics ranging from etiquette, Southern living, blog and social media marketing and search engine optimization.
Join Christi as she shares reflections, recipes and recollections from a Southern life.

Beautiful website from a fellow Arkie!! I love to find Arkansans who blog well!
Christi,
I really like your website. It is very professional, informative, and interesting. I am brand new to blogging and don’t seem to have a whole lot of time to spend on it. My sister got me to look at a few blogs… she started her own… and next thing you know, I started my own as well!
Thank you for commenting on my tablescape. It was my first one to post. I really had fun!
Have a great weekend.
Susie
