The "bridal wreath" and the redbud make a wonderful centerpiece for our dinner!

Beautiful colors

Spring on the porch and the doves have joined us :)

Pink and white stripes with a floral salad plate.

With the lovely floral display in the background . . .

Beautiful way to start SPRING!

Today’s Lagniappe: Asparagus Salad
Something lovely for spring.

2 lbs. asparagus
1 bunch scallions
4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
2/3 c. salad dressing
2/3 c. sour cream

Cook asparagus tender crisp and arrange whole spears in a casserole dish so that they lay straight across 2 or 3 layers deep. Chop the scallions and sprinkle over asparagus. Sprinkle bacon over scallions. Combine salad dressing and sour cream thoroughly and spread over the top.

I love your porch. What a super place to sit and what gorgeous flowers you’ve arranged. We’re having a heatwave but can’t sit outside because the bees are as big as golf balls! Good to “see” you here. — Jane F.

Nothing like dining on the porch. We’ve a bit too much oak pollen for outside gatherings just now, but hopefully that will pass soon. Everything is lime green!

So pretty. Spring is there big time! And what could speak of spring better than asparagus. Now if I could just learn how to cook it so it’s tender and still has it’s color!!!!!!!

No dinner on the porch for us…too cold and windy! I love your salad and dinner plate and I envy your weather. The asparagus salad sounds yummy too. Joni

Thank you Christy K. – I remember those bushes being called bridal wreath and I believe spirea is correct. They are just gorgeous! If you are local, those are located in Indian Creek near the old Talbert cemetery.

Christie, what a pretty table; the dishes go so nicely with the flowers. I love those birds!

Christi- I love the mix of drippy flirty pink and white floral stems.
They are very beautiful on your table. I also am crazy about your plates. What a pretty combo. The stripes and floral. Reminds me of well put together fabric!
So pretty. Enjoy your great weather.

Yes, bridal wreath spirea. I think that’s how you spell it! I had a yard full of it when I lived in Mississippi and miss it so much!

I love the white bushes you have in bloom. Are they bridal something? We used to have them on the farm, I remember them as a child. You dishes are lovely. The blooms are wonderful.
