Southern Beard

My husband wouldn't let me take his picture so I found this bearded pig. I'm not saying he is a pig but I did like the pic.

My dear husband is growing a beard. It all started when the power went out. We heated one room with the fireplace. We have a gas water heater so we could take hot showers but, in a really cold bathroom. He braved the shower but didn’t want to stay long enough for the shave.

We ran into our friends Mark and Kim and noticed Mark was growing a beard as well. Same reason. They decided these were their “protest beards”. I assume they were protesting the power being off. Well, the power is back on now and the beard is still growing. Now it is his “Mardi Gras beard.” I’ll have to check with Kim and see if Mark still has his beard. He may not have gotten the Mardi Gras update from my husband. So far, I like it okay. You know, men are funny!

You’re right I never knew so much about pigs. Sounds like a great pet.

Christi, you are SO funny! Love the pic! We have actually had two potbellied pig ‘children’ and one potbellied pig ‘grandchild’, so we are very fond of SOME pigs…not so much this one, though. ;o) Did you know that George Clooney had a potbellied pig that was his “baby”? I think it lived to the age of 18. They can live up into their twenties and beyond. Wish dogs were like that. 🙁 George said that his favorite thing one was the pig to greet people at the door with him, especially pizza-delivery people. We enjoy our dogs, but pigs are MUCH smarter, MUCH cleaner, and you only ave to clean one corner of your yard because they ALWAYS use the same spot to go to the bathroom. If they stay little, they will even use a litter box in the house. Oklahoma summers, though, can be fatal to them. Cold weather doesn’t bother them, but heat is dangerous. One of ours died from the heat. SO, I bet you didn’t know that posting one pic would result in your hearing more about pot-bellied pigs than you probably ever wanted to know, did you?
